Denis: I get intense satisfaction from having a hand in the technology that’s making such a positive difference in so many lives.
Denis came to CBOSS in May 1996, being a third year student of the Moscow State Institute of Electronics and Mathematics. He learned about the company from his course-mate. As he acknowledged, Denis was attracted by the innovative and future-oriented branch of business, a chance to put knowledge and skills to rewarding practice, to get a job that was loyal to full-time students and encouraged flexible work hours, mainly evenings and weekends at that time.

He started as a junior specialist in the Documentation Department. That position implied both creating technical documents and, to a certain extent, software testing. The dedication of the small team, which included Denis, allowed CBOSS to provide the first customer with the package of specifications simultaneously on implementation of the billing solution.

Since there was no Training Center at that time, Denis had to study CBOSS on his own. He worked hard, grasping the telecom area that was new to him. According to Denis, special lectures by A. Morozov (President of CBOSS), and the help of the more experienced colleagues, were extremely useful. In the mid-90s, the cellular communications market was in the early stage of its development, and real-life experience was the only reliable tutor. Denis was eager to learn the ropes in this completely new subject domain, above all else, reading a lot of technical books.

Denis’s working skills, self-motivation, and goal-oriented approach helped him to start his career. He was included in the taskforce that installed the CBOSSbcc billing system for our first client, SMARTS company (Samara). There, Denis also participated in training and consulting. Denis says that the first installation experience wasn’t easy but it helped him in the following business trips.

In August 1997, after the CBOSSbcc installation in Vladivostok, Denis was appointed project manager during the CBOSSbcc implementation in CJSV Kuban-GSM, which is now one of the major operators in Russia. At first the Kuban-GSM representatives didn’t take Denis seriously as he was very young, but afterwards, due to his thoughtful and affirmative approach, he was treated with due respect.

Frequent business trips allowed Denis to gain great experience and visit a lot of interesting places in the former USSR: Vladivostok, Irkutsk, Krasnoyarsk, Omsk, Tbilisi, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, etc.

Since the implementation in Kuban-GSM, Denis has participated in a number of projects, including the CBOSSbcc installation in Mobile Telesystems (Moscow) at the beginning of 1998, Mobile Communication Systems (Omsk), and Dontelecom (Rostov-on-Don). Approximately at that time he was appointed to the post of Deputy Implementation Department Chief, and in summer 1999 he became the Chief of the Department

In addition to his career, Denis succeeded in his studies. At the beginning of 1999 he graduated from the institute with an honors degree and he is now improving his English.

On the whole, working at CBOSS has given Denis confidence and independence and allowed him to live and travel the way he enjoys.

He has been a CBOSS partner for two years already and, according to him, one of the good points of his work is that he can always feel and see the results.

Today Denis is a high-class specialist with profound experience. But his career is on the rise and, undoubtedly, new achievements are ahead of him.
