Russian developer of CBOSS billing purchases a full package of exclusive rights on the Absolute billing solution from ServoComp.
The Absolute billing targets ISP and IP-telephone operators. Offerings from CBOSS for this market were moderate. The deal creates an opportunity for the company to take a leading position in this market segment. ServoComp becomes the distributor of the product. According to CBOSS president Andrey Morozov, ServoComp is entitled to receive a share of revenues from all sales of the Absolute for a long period.
Leonid Kuropatov, ServoComp general director, says that Absolute contributes to 50% of total sales. Recently, ServoComp found difficult to maintain the required level of technical support for the Absolute and the company decided to focus its efforts on other projects.
Leonid Kuropatov assured no cuts and laid-offs would take place in the units that worked with Absolute. Some developers will be transferred to CBOSS.
Alexey Tarasov, CBOSS commercial director outlined priority of the Absolute integration into the existing line of products. Specifically, the system will be integrated with IVR CBOSSacc, giving Internet and IP telephony users the same self-service capabilities as those of subscribers from the cellular networks with CBOSS billing.
To date, Absolute billing is deployed in the networks of more than 50 operators, among them MTU-Intel, MTU-Inform, Central Telegraph, Telmos, TransTelecom and PeterStar.
