According to VolgaTelecom, the network is based on hardware from Proxyma Communications. 30 2.4 GHz hotspots were installed in Nizhny Novgorod. NCC customers can pay for Wi-Fi from their mobile accounts, other users buy NCC’s scratch cards to activate the service. The Wi-Fi infrastructure is supported by the comprehensive solution from CBOSS.

NCC's IT Director Anatoly Ponomarenko said, “Wi-Fi deployment in Nizhny Novgorod is the next phase of enhancing end-user services, which, as we hope, will help us satisfy user demand in innovative telecommunication technologies. We are sure that the CBOSS solution which allowed us to implement the project at minimum cost, will also provide for robust and efficient service operation.”

NCC started building its Wi-Fi network in April 2008. Back then, the company announced Wi-Fi launch by all branches in 2009-2010.

According to NCC, the company has acquired 35% of the mobile market in Nizhegorodskaya oblast.
