Questions to participant of InfoComm-2002

What is, in your opinion, the value of such events as InfoComm?

No doubt, the event is top important. It gives an overview of market players, on the one hand, and a chance for players to show themselves, on the other hand. Certainly, the scale exhibition is not as big as it could be. In my opinion, the primary objective of such events is to give society a vision of information services. From this point of view, the InfoComm exhibition is absolutely necessary, as it conveys objective information to potential consumers.

Could you assess the role, place and social value of the Electronic Russia Federal Target Program?

This is a very important social initiative that plays a key, consolidating role. We can only regret that it lacks sufficient financial support. Its value in the life of the society is hard to overestimate. Development of information environment automatically solves a considerable amount of social issues. Telecommunications are considered one of the key enablers for evolution of society.

We are seeing fast changes to the better. There are vivid examples that show utilization of information technologies by middle-size businesses. Specifically, the Internet has already become a regular and effective marketing tool. At the current stage, companies are actively looking for similar marketing tools they feel need for.

Your company focuses on billing solutions and on development of enterprise resource management systems. Can you assess the efficiency of real-life implementation of information technologies?

Accurate ROI assessment in IT is a must: lessons of the crisis in the West are be learned. Image projects should be carefully weighted against careful ROI assessment. As for investments in enterprise management systems, they pay back very fast, provided they have been done reasonably and prudently.

Could you assess the rates of development for your company without automation of enterprise resource management?

I cannot imagine our business without any automation tools. However, quite obvious that, our enterprise would have developed several times slower. If one can think of any development at all, in that case.
