Robust Cluster Solution Installed in NCC
CBOSS experts have successfully completed the installation of a high-availability fault-tolerant cluster solution in NCC.
NCC, a CBOSS customer since 1997, has always placed great emphasis on the reliability of its telecommunications infrastructure. Several years ago, the company opted for the high-availability convergent solution from CBOSS. Striving to achieve maximum hardware and software fault-tolerance, NCC now chose cluster technologies.
CBOSS experts implemented a multi-site high-availability cluster based on Sun Microsystems SunCluster software, with the SunFire E4900 and SunFire E6900 servers installed in geographically separated datacenters. In addition to the standard reliability features, the new solution ensures disaster recovery - if one of the servers fails for any reason, the other one takes over the load.
As compared to the traditional telecoms solutions, cluster systems ensure:
- unbeatable reliability: if necessary, cluster software immediately switches all applications running on the main server over to the redundant node (second server) and enables business continuity
- minimization of human error: in case of force majeure, the failover occurs automatically, with no action required from the administrator
- minimized downtime, which is especially important for NCC as it runs the real-time billing solution CBOSSrtb.
In addition to the cluster solution, a stand-by server is installed in NCC to ensure maximum reliability. The probability of its use is almost zero, however, it provides additional guarantee of continuous system availability even in case of disaster.
CBOSS Corporation provides comprehensive warrantee technical support for the software and hardware solution installed in NCC.
Anatoly Ponomarenko, IT Director for NCC, says, “The successful implementation of the fault-tolerant disaster recovery cluster solution from CBOSS marked the final stage of the NCC’s project to create a high-availability comprehensive IT infrastructure, ensuring efficient business development and customer service continuity.”
