Azerfon Utilising CBOSS Technology to Improve Service for Roaming Subscribers
CBOSS Corporation and the Azerbaijani telco AZERFON, operating under the Nar Mobile brand, have concluded contract for supply and implementation of the new roaming subsystem CBOSSnrtrde.
Roaming fraud is a serious concern for all telecommunications companies, negatively affecting services for roaming subscribers. The ability to minimize fraud and enhance roaming partner management is undoubtedly attractive to telecommunications businesses allowing them to monitor misuse of roaming services and, as a result, offer attractive packages and avoid inconveniences for their subscribers.
In view of this, the GSM Association has developed NRTRDE (Near Real Time Roaming Data Exchange) – a modern tool for detection and management of fraudulent behavior in roaming.
NRTRDE, as compared to previously used HUR (High Usage Report), provides the roaming partners with the capability to regularly exchange key information on all roaming calls in near real time. This information will be timely analyzed to detect and prevent fraud.
The CBOSS solution built on the NRTRDE technology enables telcos to fulfill the GSMA recommendations and minimize losses associated with roaming fraud. CBOSSnrtrde includes a full range of options for end-to-end automation of roaming partner support.
The mobile operator AZERFON (Nar Mobile), using a wide range of CBOSS products, currently offers voice roaming in 85 countries and 158 partner networks and data roaming in 58 countries and 90 networks.
The contract for supply of the new roaming subsystem paves the way for Azerfon to meet the above challenges.
"Use of innovations is one of the main competitive advantages of AZERFON. We aspire to apply the most up-to-date technologies in all branches of our activity, thus ensuring consistent development of the business allowing Nar Mobile to continue providing the best value for money to its subscribers in Azerbaijan. Signing the contract with CBOSS, AZERFON is looking forward to further enhancing its roaming services to make attractive roaming offerings. CBOSS continues to be an important partner for Azerfon by providing solutions meeting the requirements of our company and subscribers," said Dmitry Fosty, Technical Director
AZERFON LLC launched its commercial activities on March 21, 2007 under the Nar Mobile brand. The Nar trademark was created as a symbol of the relationship between Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage and modern life.
Today Azerfon’s network spans 80% of the territory of Azerbaijan with its subscriber base exceeding 1,300,000 users. In 2009, an agreement on non-stock partnership was signed between AZERFON and Vodafone.
