Bravo! New CBOSS SMSC Launched in the Middle East
The convergent solution from CBOSS deployed in Bravo, Saudi Arabia, is welcoming a new addition – CBOSSsms SMSC.
Bravo is an iDEN service provider and one of the four mobile operators in the country. The iDEN technology combines cellular and Push-to-talk networks (portable two-way radio), providing traditional cellular communications, radio trunking, messaging and wireless data services. This makes iDEN attractive to corporate customers, who dominate Bravo’s subscriber base.
Striving to enhance profitability, functionality and reliability of the messaging service, the operator replaced the legacy SMSC. The new CBOSSsms SMSC is designed to provide the following functionality unavailable in the existing system:
- Prepaid charging
- Reliable delivery of international SMS and long SMS messages in Arabic
- Profitable infotainment services and direct SMSC access for content providers.
The solution was deployed on the existing hardware platform, which is an important benefit in today’s economic situation. This allowed not only to minimize costs but also accelerate time-to-market. The new SMSC also had a positive impact on the quality of service and opened new horizons for profitable partnerships with content providers.
”CBOSS develops and supplies a full range of solutions under the ‘3D Convergence’ slogan, with platform convergence one of the dimensions. Having once again opted for the CBOSS solution, our partners in Bravo enjoy triple convergence. Firstly, CBOSS solutions are designed to support multiple network technologies. This allows our reliable SMSC, well-known to operators of various network standards, to naturally and seamlessly integrate into the iDEN network,” says Andrey Morozov, President of CBOSS. “Secondly, the solution was added to the already deployed CBOSS products and required no additional integration - postpaid and prepaid charging was available immediately. Thirdly, CBOSSsms deployment on the existing software-hardware platform, standard for CBOSS VAS products, radically lowers TCO (total cost of ownership).”

The company offers Push-to-Talk, which makes it possible to communicate instantly with one person (one-to-one) or a group of people (one-to-many) with a simple push of a button on special iDEN-enabled handsets.
