Bank Card Payment Authorization System
A telecom operator that is able to support bankcard payments enjoys a great deal of advantages, including:
- lower costs for the payment collection
- minimum cash flow risks
- an increased competitive edge and the better acquisition of new customers aided by more convenient payment options
- an improved image of the company – customers highly value a telco’s ability to provide state-of-the-art payment methods based on cutting edge technologies.
CBOSSbcc is a hardware/software platform with the ability to streamline any telecom operator’s activity. It creates a universal environment for the collection of electronic payments based on CBOSSccp. The solution is designed to provide for automatic online authorization of any bankcard transactions, their registration in CBOSSbcc and for customer notification of the results of the transaction.
System Operation
A customer may pay using any bankcard via CBOSSacc, CBOSSics, CBOSSsms (by SMS, or via SIM menu), or via a point-of-sales.
In order to charge the customer’s bank account, it is necessary to get authorization from the bankcard processing center (BCPC). The BCPC returns an authorization code verifying the transfer of funds from the customer’s to the telco’s account, or a denial code rejecting it.
The CBOSSbcc-BCPC interface is provided by the CBOSSbcc Authorization Server, CBOSSbcc AS - a core module of CBOSSccp, and the authorization server utility of the processing center (PCAS). The PCAS enables the authorization of requests and the exchange of results between CBOSSbcc and the BCPC over a secure protocol.
Key Features
Transaction data registrationThe system registers accepted bankcards, the reasons for the denial of authorization and the supported authorization terminals (cash desks, CBOSSacc, CBOSSics, CBOSSsms).
Payment registration via cash deskPayments are registered via automated cash desks equipped with a bankcard reader. The payment is registered immediately after confirmation from the processing center, and a receipt is issued to the customer. The customer can cancel the payment and have the amount refunded even after the receipt has been issued.
Payment registration via CBOSSacc, CBOSSics, SMS, or SIM MenuIn order to use these payment options, the customer needs to sign an agreement with the carrier. To make a payment, the customer enters the amount of payment during the CBOSSacc session, on the CBOSSics web page or sends it by SMS. The SIM Application Toolkit also allows for the registration of payments. The customer selects the required menu item and enters the amount of payment. The system automatically sends an SMS request with payment parameters.
The confirmation is delivered by SMS or through a CBOSSacc notification. In the case of a successful authorization of payment, the customer’s mobile account is credited by the payment amount.
Authorization requests are generated by CBOSSacc, CBOSSics, CBOSSsms, or the Cash desk module and queued by the CBOSSbcc AS. It sends them to the PCAS, where they are forwarded to the processing center via a special channel.
The PC processes the incoming requests and sends back authorization confirmation codes or authorization denials to the PCAS, which forwards them to the CBOSSbcc AS and then to the corresponding CBOSSbcc subsystems.
The payment is registered in the PC after the financial transaction has been confirmed, usually at the end of the working day. To confirm transactions, the CBOSSbcc AS sends electronic slips of performed authorizations to the PCAS.
CBOSSccp allows for the browsing of successful authorizations, the queuing of authorization requests and the removal of unprocessed requests.
Payment cancellationCBOSSccp allows for the rollback of any transaction performed during the current banking day in the event of a cashier’s error or the customer’s wish.
Monitoring of CBOSSbcc AS operationCBOSSccp allows for visual control of the whole authorization cycle and the browsing of CBOSSbcc AS messages. If a CBOSSbcc AS shutdown is caused by error, it is automatically restarted.
Benefits
- CBOSSccp enables the instant recharging of accounts by bank card via CBOSSacc, CBOSSics, SMS or SIM menu.
- CBOSSccp performs all transactions via CBOSSbcc AS, and there is no need to connect each cash desk to the processing center. It allows the use of bankcard readers rather than expensive POS terminals and minimizes the costs of communication channels.
- All data relating to authorization is stored in a single CBOSSbcc table facilitating analysis and reporting.
