CBOSSsms is a high-performance fault-tolerant SMSC supporting both traditional and innovative SMS features. CBOSSsms open interface allows integration with multiple systems, which enables customer self-service, versatile marketing campaigns, infotainment SMS services, etc.
CBOSSsms is specifically designed for GSM, D-AMPS, CDMA and 3G networks. On integration with fixed line short messaging systems (CBOSSwirelineSMS), the system enables SMS exchange in the wireline environment.
System Operation
CBOSSsms enables SMS exchange between mobile subscribers, Email and mobile users, mobile subscribers and external applications (self-service system, Internet site, content platform). External applications are connected to the SMSC through local or global data networks (via TCP/IP, IPX/SPX, UDP, etc.), which does not limit application location or implementation.
Functionalities

CBOSSsms supports configurable repeated SMS delivery (frequency depends on results of the previous efforts), undelivered message replacement, delivery status notification, deferred delivery, prioritized delivery, etc. - Additional SMS processing features
CBOSSsms supports long messages (over 160 characters), short numbers, message forwarding, etc. - Multilanguage support
CBOSSsms simultaneously supports several languages. A customer may select a language to receive SMS from automatic services. Messages in non-supported languages are transliterated according to preset rules. - Mailing lists
Mailing lists can be created by both administrators and subscribers. A customer may grant mailing list access to the members of his access group. - Images and tones exchange
CBOSSsms supports EMS, Nokia Smart Messaging, Siemens OTA, allowing customers to add images and tones, download multimedia resources from operators or content providers. - SMS paging
CBOSSsms comprises a module for message sending by a system operator that enables paging-like service for subscribers. - SMS templates
CBOSSsms templates facilitate automatic SMS mailing in various languages. External application just sends to CBOSSsms values to be inserted in the templates. - Flexible rating

Integration
Integration with billing and prepaid systems
CBOSSsms integrates with any billing systems, including CBOSSbcc. Diameter support enables integration with prepaid platforms (e.g.,CBOSSrtb (rtBilling™)), driving real-time SMS rating.
Integration with service applications
CBOSSsms integrates with any external applications via SMPP. ODBC and OCI support allows connection to external databases for SMS self-service purposes. CBOSSsmsAPI Open Application Programming Interface considerably facilitates development of new SMS services.
Integration with OTA platforms
CBOSSsms complies with ETSI specifications describing SIM Application Toolkit technologies, which provides compatibility with any OTA platforms and allows CBOSSsms utilization as a transport for S@T applications.
CBOSSsms integrates with CBOSSjavaS@T, which enables multi-tier dynamic menu of value added services on subscriber SIM card. This provides customers with intuitive easy-to-use access to any services, which boosts service usage.
Integration with networks
Integration with CBOSSwirelineSMS allows to provide SMS services to PSTN subscribers having SMS-enabled phones.
CBOSSsmsRouter allows combining several remote SMSCs into a single SMS environment, synchronizing SMS services in various career’s subnetworks.
Integration with network monitoring systems
SNMP enables CBOSSsms operation monitoring by TMN-based systems (e.g., CBOSStmn).
Integration with CBOSSdss Decision Support System
CBOSSdss features a specific data mart that enables analysis of service usage (message quantity, peak periods) and quality (failed delivery efforts, delivered message ratio), to optimize CBOSSsms operation.
